Phone calls to find who would make it to match my siding. He stayed right on it. He found a company that crossed referenced vinyl colors from different brands. He ordered the right color. Message: *Update:* Changed rating from 1 to 3. -----------------------------. I recently had a need for a few products on short timeframe for repaid. Although I had low customer service expectations based upon multiple visits, Holmes was the closest and saving time was the most important. THIS VISIT was a radical difference. Well staffed so I didn't wait long. The morning staff was engaging, attentive, helpful, and upbeat. I made note that even the music complimented the overall attitude of _all_ the guys behind the counter. Not just to me either. I watched the staff give the same focused attention to each customer like they really cared about them and sincerely cared about helping them be successful with their project by asking about the details. Next time I have a home prj need (and we're moving into summer), Holmes on 605 will probably bump to the top of my list to try again. It was that positive a difference. ----------------------------. I only visit this location when other lumber businesses are not practical. Every time I visit I continue to be underwelmed by the customer service. Most recently, the gentleman at the counter barely stopped what he was doing to service me. No warm greeting. No friendly smile. Just rather gruff, impersonal, and get the job done. I've come to expect such over the last 5-7 years that I've visited. Then I get out to the yard and the two guys servicing the lumber purchase barely stop talking to one other long enough to help me. They were totally consumed in their conversation. They just grabbed the top sheet of plywood that was easiest to put on my car, had me sign, and walked away. I would have preferred one of the *other* sheets that was in better shape for my application. But I guess that wasn't an option. They saw I was concerned but did not offer to ensure I was satisfied. So if you just need materials and don't care about quality or an engaging customer experience in where you spend your hard earned $$$, then the Condit location is probably adequate. But there's lots of other lumber store options that fair much better. Recommend the Menards on 23 as my current personal favorite.
